The students are also learning about technology in a screen-less way, by trying out some (new-to-them) Computer Science Unplugged activities.
Today, 2 of our Middle School groups engaged in a CS Unplugged game called "Beat The Clock." In this game, the students "became" a set of randomized data (the numbers 1 through 6), with a goal of sorting their numbers in numerical order, as a computer would. They moved through a sorting network on the floor, and as they moved they compared their numbers and used a pair of sorting rules (smaller numbers go left, and bigger numbers go right).
In the video above, the Middle School Jefferson cohort successfully plays the "Beat The Clock" game for the first time!
