Our new CGS Show is essentially an reboot and expansion on our long-running CGS News program.
CGS News ran for 76 episodes under its former name, and featured a student host for each episode, and a one main segment with a different student interviewing a CGS teacher or staff member for several minutes.
The new CGS Show takes the school news concept to the next level, with multiple segments about school events and classroom projects, and more students on camera, sharing things they are interested in, and their reflections on things they are learning and experiencing in school.
This first episode of the CGS Show was a co-creation of the Middle School "Technology/Media Crew" WORM Lab that I lead.
John and Amir, two students in my Media Crew WORM Lab, recorded segments of Episode 1 with me during WORM Lab.
They used the Tech room's teleprompter and read from a script I wrote for and with them, for their respective host and presenter roles.
Gregory, Johnathan, Kadeem and Richard, the other students and members of the Media Crew WORM Lab, helped record the episode -- they ran the teleprompter for the script, set up lights, and monitored the video and sound recordings.
I also recorded four other Middle School students for one segment of the episode, and I additionally used recordings I did on our recent Poem In Your Pocket Day, around our school, for another segment.
Here are the show notes with details about the first episode of The CGS Show and its particular segments:
